Create your email campaign in four steps, from choosing recipients to sending. To create an email campaign, click the create button on the Sarbacane Campaigns home page, choose the email campaign type, then follow the four steps: **Recipients**, message, checks and sending. At the message step, you choose how to create your email: a template, the EmailBuilder from scratch, a text message or an HTML file. ## Prerequisites - A [Sarbacane Campaigns licence](https://help.sarbacane.com/en/articles/294.md) (or Sarbacane Suite) assigned to your user. - Email [credits](https://help.sarbacane.com/en/articles/90.md): 1 credit per recipient for each 194 KB of message. - Your contacts, in a Sarbacane Contacts list or in a file (.xlsx, .txt, .csv). ## Steps 1. On the Sarbacane Campaigns home page, in the block for creating a new campaign, click the create button. 2. Under the email campaign type, click the select button. The campaign is created with a default name: to rename it, click the pencil next to the name, at the top left. 3. At the **Recipients** step, in the right-hand column, choose how to add your contacts: import a contact list, import a file (.xlsx, .txt, .csv), manual entry, copy and paste, import a behavioural targeting or import Salesforce contacts. Then, at the top right, click the next button. 4. At the message step, choose your creation mode (see the table below), then create your message. 5. At the top right, click the next button. 6. At the checks step, review each line (text version, sending domain, pre-header, links, behavioural tracking) and fix it with the button on the right if needed. 7. Below the list, in the tests area, send yourself a test to receive the campaign before sending it, then click the next button. 8. At the sending step, choose immediate, scheduled, predictive or staggered sending. > **Caution**: once the campaign is sent, you can no longer change it for the recipients who received it. To reuse its content, [save it as a template](https://help.sarbacane.com/en/articles/389.md) and edit it before a new send. 9. At the bottom of the page, click the button to send the campaign. ### Creation modes at the message step

## Expected result Your campaign appears in your campaign list (left menu). The total cost is shown at the top right of the checks and sending steps. > **Note**: full processing of the send can take up to 48 hours. ## Troubleshooting ### The send button stays greyed out A message says that the campaign cannot be sent because it has no recipients.
