# What is the deliverability of your emails?

Understand what decides whether your campaigns land in the inbox, in the Promotions tab or in spam.

Deliverability is the ability of your emails to reach the inbox rather than spam, or not to be blocked. Sending a campaign is not enough: Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and other mailbox providers analyze each email, then place it in the inbox, in the Promotions tab or in the junk folder. Good deliverability means more recipients see your campaigns, and therefore more opens and clicks.

## What influences deliverability

-   **Your sending domain**: an authenticated domain in your name inspires more trust than a shared domain (see [Why should I customize my sending domain name in Sarbacane Campaigns?](https://help.sarbacane.com/en/articles/167.md)).
    
-   **The quality of your list**: contacts who have given their consent, with no invalid addresses (see [How do I clean a contact list in Sarbacane Contacts?](https://help.sarbacane.com/en/articles/208.md)).
    
-   **Your recipients' engagement**: opens and clicks improve your reputation, complaints damage it.
