# How do I use a sensitive brand name as the sender of my SMS messages in Sarbacane?

Declare your brand to keep sending SMS messages with a custom sender that uses a sensitive brand name.

French mobile operators prohibit using the name of certain brands, known as sensitive brands, as the custom sender of an SMS without prior authorization. To keep sending your Sarbacane Campaigns campaigns under this name, fill in a brand declaration and send it back to Sarbacane. Without this declaration, operators may reject your campaigns. Allow five steps, plus the validation time.

## Prerequisites

- A Sarbacane Campaigns license.

- A **Custom** sender of up to 11 alphanumeric characters, with no punctuation.

- Being able to sign the document on behalf of your company.

## Steps

1. Download the [brand declaration](https://assets.sarbacane-cdn.com/Emails/sid/Declaration-de-marque-Sarbacane.pdf) (document in French).

2. In the **Éditeur** field, enter your company's legal name.

3. In the table, list each custom sender you use (called SenderID or SID in the document). For each one, indicate the type of SMS concerned: notifications, marketing, internal use, or all.

4. Sign the document.

5. Email the completed and signed document to [sendersid@sarbacane.com](mailto:sendersid@sarbacane.com).

**Note**: the document mentions “SMS A2P” (Application-to-Person). These are SMS messages that a company sends to mobile numbers from an application, in this case Sarbacane.

## Expected result

Sarbacane forwards your declaration to aggregators and operators. You receive a confirmation email as soon as it has been registered and validated. You can then send your SMS messages with this sender: in the **Message** step, under **Sender**, select **Custom**.

## Troubleshooting

### How do I know if my brand is sensitive?

The list of sensitive brands is drawn up by French mobile operators, based on reports of spam and phishing attempts. If you have any doubt about your sender, contact customer support.

### My SMS messages are rejected since I started using my custom sender

Check that you have sent your brand declaration and received the confirmation email. In the meantime, under **Sender**, select **Standard number** to keep sending your campaigns. If the problem persists after confirmation, contact customer support.

### I haven't received a confirmation

Contact customer support and provide your company name and the senders you declared.
