# How to duplicate an SMS campaign in Sarbacane?

Create a copy of an existing SMS campaign, with or without its recipients, to modify or reuse it.

To duplicate an SMS campaign in Sarbacane Campaigns, open the three-dot menu on its thumbnail, then click **Duplicate**. You can then choose to copy the entire campaign or just its content. This is also the only way to edit a campaign that has already been sent. Allow seven steps and less than a minute.

## Prerequisites

-   A Sarbacane Campaigns license.
    
-   Access to the campaign you want to duplicate.
    

**Best practice**: for a new campaign, it is preferable to start with a [blank campaign](https://help.sarbacane.com/fr/articles/52-comment-creer-une-campagne-sms-dans-sarbacane.md). A copy includes all the original content: an old link, a personalization field, or outdated information could be carried over to your new SMS without you noticing. If you duplicate a campaign, review every element of the message and check your test SMS before sending.

## Steps

1.  In Sarbacane Campaigns, open [**My campaigns**](https://campaigns.sarbacane.com/#!/p/campaignslist/camp/default/preview).
    
2.  At the top left of the screen, in the filters, select **SMS**.
    
3.  On the campaign thumbnail, click the three dots, then click **Duplicate**.
    
4.  In the window that opens, choose **Entire campaign** (content and recipients) or **Content only**.
    
5.  Set the sharing settings for the copy.
    
6.  Name the copy. By default, it is called “(copy)” followed by the name of the original campaign.
    
7.  Confirm.
    

**Note** : if you duplicate the campaign with its recipients and send it, all recipients will receive the SMS a second time, and credits will be used again. To write to only some of them, use a follow-up instead.

## Expected result

The copy appears in **My campaigns**, not yet sent. It retains all the original settings (SMS type, sender, link). Click its thumbnail to edit it.

## Troubleshooting

### I want to send the same SMS to new people

There's no need to duplicate it. On the thumbnail of the sent campaign, click the three dots, then click **New recipients**: the message will be sent only to the people you add.

### My copy still contains the old recipients

You selected **Entire campaign**. Click the copy's thumbnail and edit its recipients before sending.
