# How to create and manage user groups?

Groups let you divide the users of a Sarbacane account and control which resources are shared with whom.

Groups divide the Users of a Sarbacane account and determine who they share their resources with (campaigns, lists, templates, forms, pages). You create and manage them in **Manage users**, **Groups** tab. Each User belongs to a single group. The Owner and Administrators do not belong to any group: they see all the account's resources.

> **Note**: the first time you log in, a default group already contains all your users.

## Prerequisites

-   Be the owner or an administrator of the account.
    

## Steps

### Create a group

1.  At the top right of the screen, click your avatar.
    
2.  In the left menu, click **Manage users**.
    
3.  Open the **Groups** tab.
    
4.  On the first card, on the left, click **Create a group**.
    
5.  In **Group name**, enter the name of the group.
    
6.  Click the confirmation icon (the ✓ check mark).
    

### Add a user to a group

1.  On the group's card, click **Manage**.
    
2.  In the **Users** tab, click **Add a user**, then choose the person in the list.
    
3.  At the bottom of the page, click **Apply my selection**.
    

### Rename a group

1.  On the group's card, click **Manage**.
    
2.  To the right of the group name, click the pencil icon, then enter the new name.
    
3.  At the bottom of the page, click **Apply my selection**.
    

### Delete a group

1.  At the top right of the group's card, click **⋯**, then **Remove**.
    
2.  In **Transfer group members to**, choose the group that will take in its members.
    

> **Caution**: deleting the group is permanent. Its members and data are transferred to the chosen group. The users' accounts are not deleted: they access the resources shared with their new group and keep the rights already granted by an administrator.

3.  Click **Confirm**.
    

## Expected result

In the **Groups** tab, each group's card shows its name, the number of users and their initials.

## Troubleshooting

### I can't delete a group

A group cannot be deleted if it is the last group in the account. First create another group to take in its members.

### An administrator doesn't appear in any group

This is normal. The Owner and Administrators are not attached to any group.

### I want to limit the credits a group can use
