This checklist will enable you to:
To improve the deliverability of your emailings / newsletters
To boost your audience engagement rate
For a first sending with Sarbacane Campaigns, remember to import your list of bounces (rebounds or NPAI) into Sarbacane so that they are excluded from your mailings from your first campaign and do not affect either your deliverability or your sender reputation.
Launch the contact analysis of your list before each sending using the dedicated feature in Sarbacane Campaigns. This will enable you to remove any duplicates and to identify and correct incorrect addresses.
Send your emails only to contacts who have given their consent to receive your communications.
Do not forget to include an unsubscribe link and to associate it with your unsubscribe list(s).
Use an authenticated sending domain or subdomain. You can find more information on configuring domain names in Sarbacane Campaigns in this dedicated section of the help center.
Do not use an address such as [email protected] as the sender address and/or reply-to address. This is poor practice, as it breaks the possibilities for interaction with your contacts.
Make sure that the reply-to email address exists and that you have access to it in order to receive any replies from your contacts and error notifications (nonexistent address, incorrect address, change of contact person, leave, etc.).
Use a short, clear and impactful subject line (30 to 50 characters).
Fill in the preheader field to complement the subject line of your newsletter in your recipients’ inboxes.
Avoid spam words, the excessive use of punctuation marks and/or capital letters in the subject line, the preheader, and the body of your message.
Personalize your newsletter:
Personalize at least one element of your content (subject line, preheader, or message body) with the last name and/or first name of your contacts to improve their engagement with your brand.
Whenever possible, use dynamic content blocks to deliver personalized content to your contacts according to their profile.
Have your content proofread before sending. To err is human, and a spelling mistake can easily slip into a message. It is better to have it proofread than to convey an unprofessional image to your contacts.
If you need to send a document to your recipients, it is preferable to host your document online rather than attaching it to your newsletter (which would increase the size of the message and could therefore increase the risk that your message ends up in the junk mail folder).
Ensure that you include a link to the web version of your newsletter so that your recipients can view it in a browser if they encounter display issues in their inbox.
Make sure you have added a readable and clearly visible unsubscribe link.
Ensure that you include links on your images and your call-to-action buttons.
Check the validity of all your links by testing your mailing.
Consider reducing the size of your images, and therefore of your newsletter, by using web-resolution images hosted online.
Remember to adapt the mobile version of your newsletter using the Sarbacane Campaigns EmailBuilder.
Test your newsletter on different email clients, webmails, and reading devices.
You are now ready to send your email campaign!
