This checklist will help you improve the deliverability of your email campaigns and newsletters and boost the engagement rate of your contacts.
When sending for the first time with Sarbacane Campaigns, if you were using another email sending solution (personal or software), remember to import your bounce list (bounces or NPAI) into Sarbacane so they are excluded from your sends starting with your first campaign and do not impact either your deliverability or your sender reputation.
Also, make sure to:
Run the contact analysis of your list before each send using the dedicated feature in Sarbacane Campaigns. This will allow you to remove any duplicates and identify and correct incorrect addresses.
Only send your emails to contacts who have given their consent to receive your communications.
Do not forget to include an unsubscribe link and associate it with your unsubscribe list or lists.
It has become critical in sending email communications to use an authenticated sending domain or subdomain. As anti-spam filters become increasingly suspicious, authenticating yourself becomes essential to reassure them as well as your recipients.
Find more information on domain name configuration in Sarbacane in this dedicated section of the help center.
Do not use a [email protected] type address as the sender address and/or reply address. This is indeed a poor practice that breaks the possibilities for interaction with your contacts.
Ensure that the reply email address is an address that exists and to which you have access to receive any responses from your contacts and error returns (non-existent address, incorrect address, change of contact, vacation, etc.).
Use a short, clear and impactful subject line (30 to 45 characters).
Fill in the preheader field to complement your newsletter subject line in your recipients' inbox.
Avoid spam words, excessive use of punctuation marks and/or capital letters in the subject line, preheader and body of your message.
Personalize at least one element of your content (subject line, preheader or message body) with the name and/or first name of your contacts to improve their engagement with your brand when possible.
Have your message reviewed before sending. Errors are human and a spelling mistake can quickly slip into a message. It is better to have it reviewed than to send an unprofessional image to your contacts.
If you need to transmit a document to your recipients, prefer to host your document online rather than attaching it to your newsletter (which would increase the message size and could therefore increase the risk that your message ends up in spam).
Ensure that you include a link to the web version of your newsletter so that your recipients can view it in a browser if they encounter display issues in their inbox.
Make sure you have added a readable and visible unsubscribe link.
Ensure that you include links on your images and call-to-action buttons.
Verify the validity of all your links by testing your send.
Remember to reduce the file size of your images and therefore your newsletter by using images in web resolution hosted online or in "jpeg" format.
Remember to adapt the mobile version of your newsletter using the EmailBuilder from Sarbacane Campaigns.
Test your newsletter on different email clients, webmails, and reading devices.
Ensure that your text version is consistent with your HTML version.
You are now ready to send your email campaign!
