A domain credit is a kind of token that allows you to reserve or renew a dedicated domain name used in your email campaigns. Once this credit has been acquired, you can create a custom domain that will be used in particular for your tracking links and for identifying your sends, or renew an expired domain name.
The objective is to replace the shared domains used by default with a domain that belongs to you, which improves recipients’ trust and makes it easier to recognize your brand.
According to Sarbacane’s documentation, acquiring a dedicated domain name begins with purchasing a domain credit. Once this credit is available on your account, you can access the domain settings in the application and search for an available domain name.
The process generally takes place as follows:
Access the “Domains” tab in the account settings from the “Campaigns” tab.
Select “Add a domain name”
Select the “New domain” option.
Choose the desired domain, check its availability, and order your domain.
You will be redirected to the Sarbacane store to proceed with payment.
It is possible to reserve several domains if necessary and to select the one to be used depending on the campaigns.
A domain credit is billed at €25 excluding tax per year. This amount covers the registration of the domain for an annual period and its renewal remains necessary to retain ownership of the reserved name.
As prices may change over time, it is recommended to check the conditions in force directly with Sarbacane before making any purchase.
Renewal allows you to retain ownership and use of your dedicated domain after its initial validity period. To avoid any interruption of service or loss of the domain, it is important to anticipate its expiration date.
The renewal process generally takes place as follows:
Access the “Domains” tab in the account settings from the “Campaigns” tab.
In the list of your configured domains, you should see the expired domain appear. From the three small dots at the end of its line, you will find the “renew” option.
Choose the desired domain, check its availability and order your domain.
You will be redirected to the Sarbacane store to proceed with the payment.
Once the payment has been made, the status of the domain should appear in the list as “Pending validation”. Validation is generally completed quite quickly.
