You own a domain (www.yourdomain.com), have started configuring a sending subdomain (for example newsletter.yourdomain.com), but its status remains “Not validated”. This is very likely related to the records that must be created with your hosting provider, which are required for validation.
The validation of a subdomain is automatic as soon as the records are correctly valid. Here are some key points to check if your subdomain appears as “Not validated”.
If the TXT and NS keys are correctly recorded with your hosting provider, it may be necessary to allow for a propagation delay of up to 48 hours, after which the subdomain becomes valid.
You have ensured that the recorded keys are correct but the domain still remains not validated? This may be because the server query period has expired.
For example: domain created on Sarbacane on the 10th of the month, TXT and NS keys recorded with your hosting provider on the 15th of the month: the domain will not be validated.
If this is your situation, it is simple: delete the domain on Sarbacane, then register it again. This action will restart the activation of the subdomain, without affecting the records you have already created.
For the subdomain to change to “Validated” status, represented by a “v” check mark, the records must be created with your hosting provider, namely:
the TXT record on the domain
The TXT record provided by Sarbacane in its domain makes it possible to authenticate as the owner of the domain that you wish to configure.
the NS records on the subdomain
The NS records make it possible to set up the delegation of the DNS zone of your subdomain.
Make sure that the records have been correctly created with your hosting provider, particularly that the TXT key is present on your main domain.
If you make a correction to the NS and/or TXT record with your hosting provider and this correction is made more than 48 hours after the creation of the subdomain on Sarbacane: delete and register the subdomain again on Sarbacane to restart the activation.
