You own a domain name (www.yourdomain.com) and have started configuring a shipping subdomain (for example, newsletter.yourdomain.com), but its status remains "Invalid." This is very likely related to the records that must be created with your hosting provider, which are required for validation.
The validation of a subdomain is automatic as soon as the records are correctly valid. Here are some key points to check if your subdomain appears as "Invalid."
If the TXT and NS keys are correctly registered with your hosting provider, it may be necessary to allow for a propagation period that can extend up to 48 hours, after which the subdomain becomes valid.
You have ensured that the registered keys are correct, but the domain remains invalid? This may be because the server query period has expired.
For example, if you register on Sarbacane on the 10th of the month and register TXT and NS keys with your hosting provider on the 15th of the month, the domain will not be validated; indeed, you only have 48 hours to register the keys with your hosting provider.
If you are in this situation, it is simple: delete the domain on Sarbacane and then register it again. This action will restart the activation of the subdomain without impacting the records you have created with your hosting provider, which remain unchanged.
In order for the subdomain to change to “Active” status, represented by a “✔” check mark, the records must be created with your hosting provider, namely:
the TXT record on the domain
The TXT record provided by Sarbacane in its domain makes it possible to authenticate as the holder of the domain to be configured.
the NS records on the subdomain
The NS records make it possible to set up delegation of the DNS zone of your subdomain.
Ensure that the records have been correctly created with your hosting provider, in particular the presence of the TXT key on your main domain.
