To remove contacts from your whole account, delete them from the Sarbacane Contacts directory: they disappear from all your lists, including opt-out and bounce lists. To remove a contact from a single list, delete it from that list instead.
Access to Sarbacane Contacts.
Best practice: before a mass deletion, export your lists, including your opt-out and bounce lists, to keep a copy.
In the left menu of Sarbacane Contacts, click the Contact directory icon (second icon). On an account with many contacts, loading can take a few seconds.
Find the contacts with the Email or phone number field at the top of the page, or with the alphabetical index on the left.
Hover over a contact's row and tick the box that appears at the top left of the row. Repeat for each contact. To select everything, tick the box next to the counter, at the top right: every contact in the directory is then ticked, and you can untick the ones to keep.
Caution: deleting from the directory is permanent. The contacts are removed from all lists, including opt-out and bounce lists, and the tracking pixel consent information is lost. An unsubscribed contact who is imported again later could receive your sendings again.
At the top right, click Actions, then Remove.
In the Delete contacts window, check the number of contacts shown, then click Validate.
Note: to delete a single contact, you can also open its record (arrow › at the end of the row) and click Delete this contact.
The contacts disappear from the directory and from all your lists. The counter at the top right goes down accordingly.
It belongs to a synchronized list: the next synchronization imported it again from your source tool. Delete it in that tool too.
Deleting from the directory also removed it from your opt-out list, and it was then imported again. Add it back to your opt-out list.
No contact is selected. Tick at least one contact (step 3).
