You can delete all or part of the contacts stored in the directory of your Sarbacane account.
This feature allows you to quickly clean your global database by deleting contacts in a targeted or complete way.
The directory groups together all the contacts stored in your account, regardless of their original list.
You can:
delete all contacts from the directory;
delete only a selection of contacts;
apply filters in order to precisely target the contacts to be deleted.
Deleting contacts from the directory is a global action that impacts the entire account.
When a contact is deleted from the directory:
it is also removed from the contact lists to which it belongs;
the lists of unsubscribed contacts and NPAI are also cleared of the contacts concerned.
This operation may have significant consequences on your future mailings.
From the “Directory” tab in “Contact”, you can select one or more contacts by ticking them using the selection checkboxes.

Or all contacts using the small “-” at the top right of the screen

By deleting contacts that are present in the lists of unsubscribed contacts or complaints, certain protections are removed.
If these contacts are then re-imported or resynchronized, they may once again receive your communications.
This may lead to:
spam complaints;
an increase in unsubscribes;
a deterioration of your deliverability.
We therefore recommend that you use this feature with caution.
Synchronized lists linked to automated campaigns are also affected by this deletion.
If contacts are deleted from the directory:
the synchronized lists will be cleared of the contacts concerned;
the active synchronizations can then automatically repopulate these lists.
Contacts may therefore automatically reappear after a new synchronization with your external data source.
Before performing a massive deletion, we recommend that you:
check the filters applied;
Export your contacts, NPAI, unsubscribed contacts before deleting the directory
identify the active synchronized lists;
As this feature is irreversible, make sure to carefully validate the contacts concerned before confirming.
