Each mailbox provider (Gmail, Outlook, Orange, etc.) decides on its own whether to classify an email as spam. It looks at your sending domain, the quality of your list, the engagement of your recipients and your content. Run the checks below in order. Allow about twenty minutes.
You have sent at least one email campaign with Sarbacane Campaigns.
You have a few test addresses with different mailbox providers (Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
Send a test of your campaign to your test addresses, then check in each mailbox whether the email arrives in the inbox or in spam.
Check your sending domain. If you still use Sarbacane's shared domains, set up your own domain (see Which method should I choose to send with my own domain in Sarbacane Campaigns?). If you already have a domain, check that it is Activated and selected in the Message step of the campaign.
If your domain is less than two months old, check that you increased your volumes gradually (see How do I warm up a new sending domain in Sarbacane Campaigns?).
Check your list. All your contacts must have agreed to receive your emails, and no address may come from a purchased file. Remove addresses in error and contacts that have been inactive for a long time.
In the statistics of your latest campaigns, look at the open, click and complaint rates. If they are abnormally low, or if complaints increase, send first to your most engaged contacts.
Check the content. The unsubscribe link must be visible, links must point to your own domain, and the message must contain no attachment and no typical spam wording (see Best practices for your campaign content).
Your test emails arrive in the inbox, and the open rates of your next campaigns go back up.
They are blocked before reaching the recipient's mailbox. Check that the address is not in the bounce list (see Why are contacts excluded from my campaign in Sarbacane Campaigns?), then write to technical support at [email protected], giving the name of the campaign.
Each mailbox provider has its own criteria. Temporarily reduce your sends to this provider and target the contacts who open your emails there.
