In order to ensure accurate tracking of clicks and opens on your prospects’ emails, Sarbacane Engage replaces the links in your messages with redirected links, while integrating a tracking pixel via the domain dtns.me.
Customization of the tracking domain
To further personalize your approach and avoid the use of generic tracking links, you have the option to configure a custom tracking domain, such as mondomaine.com, using your own domain name. This customization not only prevents your recipients from perceiving your emails as automated due to the tracking links, but may also potentially improve the deliverability of your messages (see the article on optimizing deliverability).
Two-step configuration
Configuring your custom tracking domain is carried out in two simple steps:
1. Adding a CNAME record
This step is performed via the configuration console of your domain name provider (for example OVH, Gandi, etc.).
You must create a CNAME record by redirecting your tracking domain (e.g. track.mondomaine.com) to custom.dtns.me. Make sure to include the dot after me.
2. Integration of the domain in Sarbacane Engage
After configuring the CNAME record, follow these steps in Sarbacane Engage:
Access the Settings via the sidebar.
Go to the Email tab.
Enter the new domain in the section located at the bottom of the page.
Click Save.
From now on, the following URLs will be displayed in your emails with your custom domain:
The tracking pixel link if open tracking is enabled.
All links included in your email if click tracking is enabled.
Unsubscribe links if this option is selected.
Customizing your tracking domain and integrating redirected links associated with your own domain enhance the recognition of your emails by your recipients and contribute to better deliverability. It is now your turn to act.
