Connecting your Exchange/Outlook mailbox to Sarbacane Engage is an essential process for the effective sending of your prospecting emails. Learn how to do this and how to overcome common authentication issues.
Follow these steps to connect your professional Microsoft 365 email address to Sarbacane Engage:
Go to your account settings, then to the Email tab, and choose Microsoft.
Select Connect via Outlook (Office 365 pro) if you are using Outlook. Enter your professional email address and sign in.
Authorize Engage to access your professional Microsoft 365 account.
To connect via Exchange (EWS), complete the required fields and sign in.
To connect via Exchange (EAS), enter your email address and sign in. The procedure is similar to the professional Microsoft 365 synchronization.
Authentication issues may arise when configuring the mailbox. Here is how to resolve common problems:
Use of a VPN: If your mail server is behind a VPN or a firewall, this may prevent synchronization. Check your VPN and firewall settings to allow the connection to the mail service.
Identification error: If, despite correctly entering your credentials and advanced settings, you receive an error, this may be due to two-factor authentication. Generate an application-specific password and contact Datananas support if necessary.
Temporary mail server error: If a temporary error occurs during synchronization, it is possible that the mail server is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.
Failure of automatic settings discovery: If the automatic discovery of connection settings fails, request the settings from your mail administrator and enter them in the advanced settings.
Connection error: If the connection cannot be established with the provided settings, contact your mail administrator to obtain the correct settings and use them in the advanced settings.
For optimal synchronization, ensure that the sharing settings, anti-malware filtering, connection filtering, and ActiveSync access are correctly configured in the Exchange admin center. The recommended settings are as follows:
Organization, Sharing section: configure the default sharing policy for the sharing of individual calendars.
Protection, Anti-malware Filter section: enable sender notifications and configure the response to malware detection to remove all attachments.
Protection, Connection Filter section: use the default settings.
Mobile, Mobile Device Access section: check the settings for Exchange ActiveSync Access.
Mobile, Mobile Device Mailbox Policies section: use the default settings.
If synchronization does not work, consider using IMAP/SMTP synchronization. Configure it with the information specific to your account. You can also retrieve this information from your mailbox.
If synchronization via Exchange does not work, use the IMAP/SMTP method. Retrieve the information from your mailbox for the following settings:

Host: smtp-mail.Outlook.com
