How to view and modify tracking pixel consent in Sarbacane?

Where and how to modify or view your contacts' consents?

In Sarbacane, you can view and modify your recipients' tracking pixel consent directly from your contact lists and their individual profiles. This information helps you comply with CNIL requirements by recording the contact's choice and the date of their last update.

Prerequisites

  • Be logged into your Sarbacane account.

  • Have access to the directory and contact lists.

Note: CNIL regulations require you to obtain recipient consent before placing a tracking pixel in emails.

View consent in your contact lists

In your contact lists, two dedicated columns allow you to view this consent:

  • Tracking consent: indicates whether the contact has accepted or refused the placement of the tracking pixel.

  • Consent date: indicates the date on which this choice was recorded or last modified.

You can display or hide these columns as needed from the column management menu of your list.

Note: if no value has yet been entered for a contact (for example for a contact imported before this feature was implemented), these columns may appear empty. If during import, the consent date is empty, the contact will automatically have the status "inactive".

Modify a contact's consent

Go to "contacts" then

  1. Open your contact list, click on the relevant contact to open their profile.

  2. In the side panel, click on Edit.

  3. In the Tracking Consent section, enable or disable the toggle button to update the contact's choice.

  4. Click on Update

Important: the consent date is automatically updated with today's date each time you make a change. It corresponds to the last update made and cannot be entered manually.

What you should see

The contact card and the columns Tracking consent and Consent date in the list immediately display the new status as well as today's date.

Note: tracking pixel consent can also be entered or updated through other channels (list import, API, or preference management forms). Regardless of its origin, the information is displayed in the same columns and on the contact card.
