I am a user. How do I enable or disable two-factor authentication?

Several scenarios:

If your account administrator requires two-factor authentication for all accounts:

No action is required on your part; two-factor authentication is enabled by default and cannot be disabled.

If the administrator does not require two-factor authentication:

You can choose to enable it only for your account, and disable it later if you wish.

Here's how:

1. In the top-right corner of the screen, click your avatar: the Profile & preferences page opens.

2. Click the Authentication tab.

3. To the right of Log in with two-factor authentication, click the toggle. If it is gray, two-factor authentication is disabled. Otherwise, it is enabled.

Note: if your account administrator decides to enable and then disable the feature, you must manually enable it for your user account by following the steps outlined above.
