Sarbacane Campaigns: The Different Types of Automated Campaigns

information Information

This help center is dedicated to the new version of our software: Sarbacane Suite. If you are a user of the previous version, Sarbacane Sunrise, you can find here the help center related to this version of the software. The update of your account to switch to Sarbacane Suite will be proposed to you shortly by our teams.

With Sarbacane Suite, you have the ability to create various types of automated campaigns. These allow you to automate email sending based on your recipients' behavior.

To do this, go to the “Campaigns” application, then to the “Create a new campaign” section.

Select “Automatic Campaign”:

Several scenarios are then available to you:

  • Welcome
  • Date
  • Update
  • Abandoned cart
  • Page seen
  • Received Campaign

Below, we will detail the various automated scenarios offered by Sarbacane Suite.

Good to know: every configured scenario must be activated for the emails to be sent as planned.

The "Welcome" scenario

The "Welcome" scenario is automatically triggered as soon as a new address is added to your contact list, regardless of the method used to enrich your list: manual addition, file import, connector, API, or Sarbacane form (via Forms).

This option is ideal in several scenarios:

  • Subscription to your newsletter
  • Account creation
  • First purchase
  • Loyalty program subscription
  • Registration for an event (webinar, trade show, workshop, etc.)
  • Downloading a white paper.

The first step is to select your contact list, which will serve as the trigger.

You can also create a new list from this dropdown menu.

Good to know: the contact list in question must be empty before the execution of this scenario; otherwise, the sends will not be triggered.

By clicking on “Add an action,” you can either “Add a message” or “Insert into a list” the added addresses.

The “Add a message” option redirects you to campaign creation, while the “Insert into a list” option can be used if you want to add the addresses to another specific contact list.

With this scenario, you can welcome new subscribers or send a message to people who fill out a form (for event registration, for instance).

The "Date" scenario

This scenario is used to send emails based on specific dates or important time-related events, provided a date-type column is present in your contact list.

It is appropriate to contact your recipients:

  • On an anniversary date
  • On a specific deadline.

The first thing to check after selecting your contact list is the compatibility with a date format.

If the formats do not match, an alert message will appear, and you will not be able to activate your scenario.

The advantage of this trigger: it allows you to create targeted and timely communications based on important dates. This helps personalize the customer experience, maintain engagement, and boost sales.

The "Update" scenario

The Update scenario is very similar to the Welcome scenario, except that it is triggered when a modification is made to a contact already present in your contact list.

Go to the trigger settings.

You can define the triggering criteria for sending your messages. First, select the column to be checked. Then, you can choose two types of values: the initial value that will originally be present in your contact list, and the expected value.

This means that when this value is reached, an email is potentially sent:

  • Whatever the value, this includes any value present in your cell.
  • If the value is not specified, when your cell is empty
  • If the value is specified, regardless of what it is
  • If the cell contains a specific value, you will need to precisely enter the value already in your list or the expected value.

As an application example, imagine your contact list includes a column with the number of orders your recipients have placed. Everyone starts at 0 orders when you set up your scenario. The idea would be to send a specific email if one of your recipients goes from 0 to 1 order. Replacing 0 with 1 will then trigger the email to be sent.

The advantage of this trigger: it allows you to offer a personalized customer experience and optimize marketing efforts.

The "Abandoned Cart" scenario

An "Abandoned Cart" scenario involves sending automated messages to users who have added products to their online cart but have not completed the purchase process.

This scenario can only be implemented if you have first connected one of your stores in the “Contacts” section of your account, then “Connectors.”

Veuillez noter que ce scénario n’est compatible qu’avec les boutiques Prestashop et Magento.

Once your store is synchronized with Sarbacane, you will be able to add a message.

The advantage of this trigger: an "Abandoned Cart" scenario is a powerful tool for e-commerce sites to recover "lost" or incomplete sales and maintain customer engagement through automated and personalized messages.

The "Page seen" scenario

This scenario is a marketing automation tool used by websites to track and respond to visitor behavior based on the pages they have viewed. For example, if a visitor views the page of one of your products, this information can be sent to Sarbacane, allowing a complementary presentation email to be sent.

Important: To set up this scenario, it is essential to first create your script. To do so, go to the “Contacts” section of your account, then “Connectors,” and finally “Website Connector.”

Select it, then you can register your website.

You will then need to write your own JS script based on the behavior you want to target. Note that the displayed script is a default, empty script that will not work as is.

Once this script is written, you will be able to create a page view scenario based on your criteria.

The advantage of this trigger: a "Page seen" scenario is a powerful tool to engage visitors based on their browsing behavior, triggering automated actions aimed at personalizing the user experience and maximizing conversions.

The "Received campaign" scenario

After sending your communications, Sarbacane Suite collects and displays key information, such as recipients who opened or did not open your message, as well as those who clicked or did not click on your links.

With the "Received campaign" scenario, you have the ability to automatically target these recipients.

Once the scenario is selected, you can choose the campaign the trigger should be based on.

Based on the expected behavior for your first communication, you can, for example, add a follow-up message for people who haven’t opened your campaign three days after it was sent.

A gear icon next to your trigger allows you to choose the triggering element for your message: whether the recipient has opened your message, clicked on your link, etc.

The advantage of this trigger: it maximizes the impact of your marketing campaigns by automatically and specifically reacting to recipients' actions, thereby fostering increased engagement and improved conversion rates.
