In Sarbacane, pixel unsubscription is a statistical indicator that measures the number of recipients who have refused to be tracked for their opens and clicks. This indicator is counted separately from email unsubscriptions and standard clicks to preserve the accuracy of your open and click rates.
Have access to the Sarbacane statistics module.
In accordance with CNIL recommendations, tracking opens and clicks by pixel requires explicit consent from your recipients. Only contacts who have accepted this tracking are counted in your open and click statistics.
When a recipient opts out of tracking (via the dedicated link or form), Sarbacane records a specific event named optout optinPixel. This event is distinct from:
Newsletter unsubscription: which concerns stopping the receipt of emails.
A standard click: the recipient remains subscribed and views the message, but refuses to be tracked.
Isolating this indicator allows you to clearly distinguish tracking refusals, unsubscribes, and complaints.
The pixel unsubscribe indicator is accessible in the following sections of your campaign statistics:
Summary chart: integrated into the campaign's pie chart, alongside invalid addresses and complaints.
Statistics filters: option to isolate or exclude contacts unsubscribed from the pixel.
Behavioral tracking: displayed in the individual detail by contact.
Data exports: included in the behavioral tracking table export, PDF export, and CSV export.
Since only contacts who have consented to tracking are now taken into account in the calculation of opens and clicks, your open and click rates may show a decrease compared to your previous campaigns.
Note: this change reflects a measurement scope limited to consenting contacts only. It does not indicate a decline in your audience's actual engagement.
