Passwords is a crucial component of your Sarbacane account's security. In this article, we will explain how to change your password based on your situation. Whether you have access to the inbox associated with your login email or not, we have solutions for you.

You have access to the inbox linked to the login email address.

If you still have access to the inbox associated with your login email address, you can follow the steps below to change your password.

Note: If the login address is a shared address like contact@domain.com or info@domain.com used by multiple people in your organization and not a personal and individual address like firstname.lastname@domain.com, please first discuss with your colleagues regarding the password. One of them might have the correct password. In any case, if you change the password, make sure to inform your colleagues that you have updated the password and provide the new password through your password management software (for security reasons, do not send the password via email or internal messaging service).

The 'Forgot Password' option.

If you no longer remember your password, the simplest option is to follow the 'Forgot Password' process described below:

  1. Go to the Sarbacane login page.
  2. Click on the 'Forgot Password' link located below the login fields.
  3. Enter the email address associated with your Sarbacane account.
  4. An email containing a password reset link will be sent to you.
  5. Open the email and click on the reset link.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new secure password.
  7. Once your password is changed, you can log in to your Sarbacane account using your new credentials.

Change your password via your profile

If you still know your password but want to change it (e.g., due to suspicion of a potential breach of your Sarbacane account), we recommend changing your password from your Sarbacane user profile.

Prerequisite: You must have access to the inbox associated with your login email.

Here are the steps to follow.

  1. Log in to your Sarbacane account using your email address and current password.
  2. Once logged in, click on your avatar in the top right corner of the screen to access your account and profile settings.
  3. You will be automatically redirected to the 'Profile' section of the settings.
  4. In the 'Credentials' section, click on the 'Edit' button next to the 'Password' field.
  5. You will be prompted to enter your current password, and then enter the new password you wish to use twice.
  6. Ensure that your new password is secure by using a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters as per the provided guidelines.
  7. Once you have entered the new password, click the blue checkmark to confirm the change.
  8. Your Sarbacane password is now updated, and you can log in to your account using your new credentials.

You do not have access to the inbox associated with the login email address.

If you do not have access to the inbox associated with your login email address, you have two options to regain access to your Sarbacane account.

Contact the owner of the login email address

If you are a user within a company or organization that uses a single shared login email address to access Sarbacane (a strongly discouraged practice), you can contact the person who has access to the inbox linked to the login email address. The owner of the email address will have the necessary permissions to either provide you with the updated password or reset the password."
