To ensure precise tracking of clicks and opens in your prospects' emails, Sarbacane Engage replaces links in your messages with redirected links, while integrating a tracking pixel through the domain "dtns.me".

Customizing the Tracking Domain

To further personalize your approach and avoid the use of generic tracking links, you have the option to configure a custom tracking domain, such as "mydomain.com," using your own domain name. This customization not only prevents your recipients from perceiving your emails as automated due to tracking links but can also potentially improve the deliverability of your messages (see the article on optimizing deliverability).

Two-Step Configuration

Setting up your custom tracking domain involves two simple steps:

Adding a CNAME Record

This step is performed via the configuration console of your domain name provider (e.g., OVH, Gandi, etc.).

You need to create a CNAME record by redirecting your tracking domain (e.g., track.mydomain.com) to "custom.dtns.me." Make sure to include the period after "me."

Once this setup is completed, by accessing "track.yourdomain.com/test," you should see the message "ok."

Integrating the Domain into Sarbacane Engage

After configuring the CNAME record, follow these steps in Sarbacane Engage:

• Access Settings via the sidebar.
• Go to the Email tab
• Enter the new domain in the section at the bottom of the page
• Click Save

Now, the following URLs will be displayed in your emails with your customized domain:

• The tracking pixel link if open tracking is activated.
• All links included in your email if click tracking is activated.
• Unsubscribe links if this option is selected.

Customizing your tracking domain and integrating redirected links associated with your own domain strengthens the recognition of your emails by your recipients and contributes to better deliverability. It's your turn to play!
