In Sarbacane Campaigns, add a link to your SMS with Insert a link: Sarbacane shortens and tracks it, so you know who clicked. It takes four steps and a few minutes.
A Sarbacane Campaigns license.
An SMS campaign in progress, at the Message step.
The address of the page you want to direct recipients to, or a Sarbacane form or landing page that has already been created.
In the Message step, in the toolbar above the message, on the phone-shaped preview, click the link icon (Insert a link).
Choose the link destination:
an external web page: enter its URL;
a Sarbacane form or landing page: select it from the ones displayed.
Optional: on the right side of the toolbar, open the “•••” menu, then URL domain, and choose the domain that will shorten your link.
In the Review step, click Send a test, then open the link on your phone.
Note: each recipient receives a different link. This is normal: it lets you know who clicked.
Best practice: use Insert a link rather than a link shortened by an external service. These links are often filtered by carriers.
Your SMS contains a short link that leads to your page, and clicks appear in the campaign statistics.
Check the following, in order:
The landing page: make sure it is still online (a flash sale page that has ended, for example, is no longer online).
The URL domain: in the « ••• » menu, open URL domain, choose another domain, then send a test again.
If the link still doesn't work, contact customer support and provide the campaign name.
On some phones, particularly iPhones, when a link ends with a hyphen, the hyphen is not included in the clickable part, so the link opens an error page. The link itself is correct. Your recipient can copy the entire link, including the hyphen, into their browser.
