Sarbacane Campaigns: why does my subdomain remain in an unvalidated state?

information Information

This help center is dedicated to the new version of our software: Sarbacane Suite. If you are a user of the previous version, Sarbacane Sunrise, you can find here the help center related to this version of the software. The update of your account to switch to Sarbacane Suite will be proposed to you shortly by our teams.

You own a domain (www.yourdomain.com) and have initiated the setup of a sending subdomain (for example newsletter.yourdomain.com), but its status remains "Not validated." This is most likely related to the records that need to be configured with your hosting provider, which are necessary for validation.

The validation of a subdomain is automatic once the records are correctly set up. Here are some key points to check if your subdomain appears as "Not validated."

A 48-hour delay for domain activation:

If the TXT and NS keys are correctly recorded with your hosting provider, it may be necessary to observe a propagation delay of up to 48 hours, after which the subdomain becomes valid.

The TXT and NS records were added more than 48 hours after the creation of the subdomain on Sarbacane

You have ensured that the recorded keys are correct, but the domain remains unvalidated? This may be because the server query deadline has passed.

For example: registration on Sarbacane on the 10th of the month, registration of TXT and NS keys with your hosting provider on the 15th of the month: the domain will not validate.

If you are in this situation, it's simple: delete the domain on Sarbacane and then register it again. This action will restart the activation of the subdomain without impacting the records you have made.

Verification of your records

For the subdomain to change to the "Validated" state represented by a checkmark "✓," the records must be made with your hosting provider, namely:

  • The TXT record on the domain:

The TXT record provided by Sarbacane in its domain allows authentication as the owner of the domain you want to configure.

  • NS records on the subdomain

NS records allow the delegation of the DNS zone for your subdomain.

Make sure that the records have been correctly configured with your hosting provider, especially the presence of the TXT key on your main domain.

If you make a correction to the NS and/or TXT record on your hosting provider and this correction occurs more than 48 hours after the creation of the subdomain on Sarbacane: delete and re-register the subdomain on Sarbacane to restart the activation.
