Sarbacane Engage: How to feed your prospecting blacklist?

information Information

This help center is dedicated to the new version of our software: Sarbacane Suite. If you are a user of the previous version, Sarbacane Sunrise, you can find here the help center related to this version of the software. The update of your account to switch to Sarbacane Suite will be proposed to you shortly by our teams.

Welcome to the section dedicated to managing your prospecting blacklist in the Sarbacane Engage app. This feature allows you to control the emails and domain names you do not wish to contact or include in your prospecting campaigns. In this section, we will explain how to access your blacklist, add contacts or domain names, and the reasons why you might want to exclude them from your prospecting email sends.

Accessing the Sarbacane Engage Blacklist

To start, you will need to access your prospecting blacklist. Go to the settings of the Sarbacane Engage app by clicking on the gear icon in the left sidebar of the app, then on “Blacklist” in the “Settings” section.

Adding Contacts or Domain Names to Your Blacklist from Sarbacane Engage Settings

Once in the settings, click on "Add to blacklist".

A window will open, and you can select the reason why you want to add the contact(s) to the blacklist:

  • Client
  • Prospect
  • Competitor
  • Other

You can then enter the emails and/or domain names manually (make sure to separate them with commas or line breaks) or copy/paste them (the values will then be separated automatically).

To finish, click on "Validate".

Two other options are also available to feed your prospecting blacklist:

  • Adding a contact to the blacklist from their contact card
  • Adding a contact to the blacklist from your inbox

Understanding Automatic Additions

Some contacts may be automatically added to your blacklist in the following situations:

  • When the contact clicks on the unsubscribe link, if this option is enabled in the settings of your sequences
  • When you receive an error email after sending, indicating that the email address of the recipient does not exist, for example. In this case, the contact is given the status "Not Delivered" in the sequence.
  • When the contact gives a very negative response, detected by our Artificial Intelligence, and they are given the status "Do Not Contact".
