Sarbacane Engage: How to change a contact’s owner?

In Sarbacane Engage, flexibility is at the heart of managing your contacts. If you work in a team, it's essential to be able to assign ownership of certain contacts to other members. This guide explains how to change the owner of a contact and guides you through the steps to make this change effortlessly.

Changing Ownership from the General View

  • To start, go to the "Contacts" page using the sidebar on the left.
  • Select the contact(s) you wish to assign to another user by checking the corresponding boxes.
  • Then, click on the three dots located at the top right of the page and select "Change owner".
  • A window will appear. Click on "Select a user" on the right to choose the new owner from the users of your instance. Finally, click "Validate".

Changing Ownership from the Contact Profile

  • To change the owner of an individual contact, access their profile by following the instructions in the article "Accessing my contacts' profile".
  • From the "Contact" tab on the right, click on the current owner's name.
  • In the dropdown menu, select the new owner of the contact. Then click "Save".

Changing Ownership from Contact Responses

  • Go to the "Inbox" using the sidebar on the left.
  • Choose the response of a contact whose ownership you wish to assign to another user.
  • In the "Contact" tab on the right, click on the current owner's name.
  • In the dropdown menu, choose the new owner from the users. This step finalizes the change.

Important notes

  • By default, the owner of a contact is the user who created it or the last to have contacted them via a sequence.
  • The options for changing the owner vary depending on your role in Sarbacane Engage (User or Manager).
  • Changing ownership is a powerful action, allowing for better distribution of responsibilities within your team.

Assigning contact ownership in Sarbacane Engage is an effective way to collaborate as a team and ensure optimal management of your interactions. By following these steps, you can easily transfer ownership of contacts and facilitate monitoring and accountability within your team.
