Connecting your Exchange/Outlook email to Sarbacane Engage is an essential process for the effective sending of your prospecting emails. Discover how to do this and how to overcome common authentication problems.

Email Configuration

Follow these steps to connect your Exchange/Outlook email address to Sarbacane Engage:

  • Go to your account settings, then to the Email tab, and choose Microsoft.
  • Select "Connect via Outlook (Office 365)" if you are using Outlook. Enter your email address and log in.
  • Authorize Datananas access to your Outlook account.
  • For "Connect via Exchange (EWS)," complete the required fields and log in.
  • For "Connect via Exchange (EAS)," enter your email address and log in. The process is similar to Outlook synchronization.

Authentication Issues and Solutions

Authentication issues can occur during email configuration. Here's how to solve common problems:

  • Using a VPN: If your email server is behind a VPN or firewall, it may prevent synchronization. Check your VPN and firewall settings to allow email connection.
  • Identification Error: If you receive an error despite correctly entering your credentials and advanced settings, it may be due to two-factor authentication. Generate a specific password for the application and contact Datananas support if necessary.
  • Temporary Email Server Error: If a temporary error occurs during synchronization, the email server may be temporarily unavailable. Try again later.
  • Automatic Settings Search Failure: If the automatic search for connection settings fails, ask your email administrator for the settings and enter them in the advanced settings.
  • Connection Error: If the connection cannot be established with the provided settings, contact your email administrator for the correct settings and use them in the advanced settings.

Recommended Settings for Optimal Synchronization

For optimal synchronization, ensure that the sharing, anti-malware filtering, connection filter, and ActiveSync access settings are correctly configured in the Exchange admin center. Here are the recommended settings:

  • Organization, Sharing section: Configure the default sharing policy for individual calendar sharing.
  • Protection, Anti-malware Filter section: Enable sender notifications and configure the response to malware detection to remove all attachments.
  • Protection, Connection Filter section: Use the default settings.
  • Mobile, Mobile Device Access section: Check the settings for Exchange ActiveSync Access.
  • Mobile, Mobile Device Mailbox Policies section: Use the default settings.

Other Synchronization Methods

If synchronization does not work, consider using IMAP/SMTP synchronization. Configure it with your account-specific information. You can also retrieve this information from your email.

IMAP/SMTP Connection

If synchronization via Exchange does not work, use the IMAP/SMTP method. Retrieve the following settings information from your email:

IMAP

  • Host: imap-mail.Outlook.com
  • Port: 993
  • Username: Your Outlook email address
  • Password: Your email password

SMTP

  • Host: smtp-mail.Outlook.com
  • Port: 587
  • Username: Your Outlook email address
  • Password: Your email password
