Prerequisites for Sending an Email Campaign

Having a License for Sarbacane Campaigns

You need a license that grants access to Sarbacane Campaigns in order to send an email campaign. There are two licenses available: the Sarbacane Suite license (providing access to the entire Suite) or the Campaigns license (providing access to Campaigns and Contacts applications only).For understanding what a license is and how to obtain one, you can refer to these resources:

Having Email Sending Credits

You require email sending credits to start sending email campaigns. These credits can be purchased from your account settings under the "Account" section, then the "Usage" section at the bottom of your current subscription preview.

Configuring a Sending Domain

Configuring a sending domain or subdomain is crucial for optimizing deliverability and maintaining your sender reputation. This step ensures your emails reach the intended recipients.

Creating Your Email Campaign

From the Sarbacane home screen, navigate to the Campaigns application. You'll be redirected to the Sarbacane Campaigns homepage.

To create an email campaign, click on the "Create" button in the "Create a New Campaign" section, or tap the small red "+" icon in the left sidebar, and then select "Create a Campaign."

Click on "Select" in the "Email Campaign" section.

You'll then be directed to the first step of campaign creation: importing contacts. From this step, you can perform several actions:

  • Name your campaign using the input field at the top left.
  • Assign tags to your campaign (accessible via the "Properties" section in the action menu on the right side of your campaign name).
  • Define campaign sharing options (accessible via the "Properties" section in the action menu on the right side of your campaign name).
  • View and navigate the breadcrumb trail representing the creation steps of your email campaign (visible and accessible at each creation step).
  • Recipients to import your contacts.
  • Message to create the structure and content of your email.
  • Tests to test your email campaign before sending.
  • Send to choose the method by which you want to send your campaign.

Import Your Contacts

The first step involves importing your contacts into your email campaign. You can import contacts in several ways:

  • Import a contact list if you've previously created one in Sarbacane Contacts.
  • Import behavioral targeting based on how your contacts have interacted with previous campaigns.
  • Import a file in formats like xlsx, txt, or csv.
  • Copy/paste a list of addresses.

Create the Structure and Content of Your Email Campaign

Choose your creation mode

Start by choosing the creation mode that suits you best.

The simplest method is to use Sarbacane's EmailBuilder, which allows you to create an email by dragging and dropping text blocks, images, buttons, RSS feeds, cards, and more into a structure of your choice.

The EmailBuilder is an advanced creation tool that enables you to design customized, stunning email campaigns and add all the elements you want with just a few clicks.

You can also begin with one of the predefined templates designed by professional email designers and customize them according to your needs. Alternatively, you can generate around fifteen templates that align with your branding using our intelligent email template generator, Smart Templates.

Other creation methods include:

  • Importing an HTML file.
  • Manually inputting HTML code into Sarbacane.
  • Importing HTML content from a web page.
  • Copying and pasting HTML code.
  • Creating a plain text format message.

Create the Content of Your Email Campaign

Adapt the Structure

Once you've chosen your template, use the drag-and-drop system of the EmailBuilder to adjust the structure of your email campaign to your needs.

Personalize the Content and Configure Settings

During the creation of your message, you have the option to edit, personalize, and configure the following elements:

  • The subject of your email campaign.
  • The preheader of your email campaign.
  • The sender's name and address, as well as the reply-to address.
  • Advanced fields.
  • All your content (text, images, call-to-action buttons, links, etc.).
  • The method of hosting your images.
  • Your unsubscribe lists.
  • Your sending domains.

Test Your Email Campaign

Before sending an email campaign, it is highly recommended to perform tests to ensure that links, layout, and reply addresses are functioning correctly.

Verification Steps by Sarbacane Campaigns

Sarbacane Campaigns provides you with a checklist of verifications to conduct before sending your message, as a reminder of important elements not to be overlooked:

  • Check the text version of your email campaign.
  • Ensure that you have provided a preheader in addition to your subject line.
  • Confirm that all your links are working properly.
  • Review your tracking settings (activate/deactivate behavioral tracking, geolocation, tracking of your campaigns in Google Analytics).

Tests Offered by Sarbacane Campaigns

You also have the option to perform several tests before launching your campaign. You can:

  • Send tests of your message to different email addresses to verify message display and link functionality. To do this, simply click "Send a Test" and enter the addresses where you want to conduct tests.
  • Run a spam analysis to detect any elements that might trigger your message being marked as spam.
  • Launch a visual analysis of your message using predictive eye-tracking. This intelligent feature simulates human vision to predict the impact of your campaign even before sending it.

Send Your Email Campaign

Once you are ready, you can choose to send your email campaign in different ways:

  • Immediate Sending: Send your campaign right away.
  • Delayed Sending: Schedule the delivery of your campaign for a specific date and time.
  • Predictive Sending: Allow this intelligent feature to determine the optimal send time for each recipient.
  • Staggered Sending: Divide your sending into smaller batches at a pace of your choice – an ideal option to manage your team's workload.
